The Pond Diggers Answer American Pond Kit Questions

Question 1: I can't seem to find the right Kit to fit my pond design. Can you custom design a Pond Kit to fit my pond?

Answer: YES! We stock a wide variety of American Pond Kits both beginner and professional, to accommodate as many pond designs as possible, however if you have a unique pond design the standard kits may not be right for you. We can definitely, custom fit a Kit to fit your custom design.

Feel free to email us photos of your site location and submit drawings, or even a rough sketch of your ponds design to our construction headquarters. We will have a designer review your project and prepare a custom American Kit, fitting you with the proper liner size and pond equipment for your project.

Question 2: What kind of warranties do you offer?

Answer: American Pond offer some of the best warranties in the pond industry! Our biological waterfall units and skimmers have a LIFETIME WARRANTY, our pond liner comes with a 20 YEAR WARRANTY and depending on which American Pond Kit you purchase, our pumps come with a TWO YEAR WARRANTY & THREE YEAR WARRANTY depending on which American Kit you choose.

Question 3: How do I go about adding a stream to my Kit?

Answer: If you are planning to construct a stream in your designs, we can add additional liner and plumbing if necessary, to accommodate your plans. For example, if you are planning on a six foot stream, we would suggest a ten foot by ten foot piece of pond liner. It is reccommended to have at least 12" to 24" of over lap during pond construction next to the biological waterfall filter and also where the stream enters the pond. Excess stream liner should ALWAYS be cut after the waterfalls and streams are working so adjustments can be made.

Question 4: What happens if I'm in the middle of the construction phase and I get stuck on one of the installation steps? Will you be able to assist me?

Answer: Have no fear, we have a team of experts that are just a phone call away that have plenty of experience with American Pond Kit installations and are there to help you. Our company prides itself on customer service! Remember we aren't just an internet store selling pond kits, we actually have a Pond Construction crew that builds ponds EVERYDAY! On the message board you will find a Tech Department where you just may find the answers to pond construction questions already posted.

Question 5: How deep can I dig my pond using the pre-cut pond liner?

Answer: The pre cut liner in your American Pond Kit will provide you with enough liner to dig your pond two-foot deep. If you plan on digging your pond deeper, you may need to purchase the next size Kit. Feel free to call our office toll-free at 800-522-5043 to help you make a decision on which Pond Kit is right for your design.

Question 6: What else do I need to complete my pond, besides an American Pond Kit?

Answer: With our American Kits you will have all the components you need to complete a wonderful waterscape. However, you will need boulders, rocks, cobbles, ornamental gravel and possibly some mulch to naturalize your waterscape. Additionally you will need to aquire some aquatic plants for the eco-system.

Some extras that are frequently added to the American Pond Kit are: Underwater pond lighting, automatic waterfill assemblies and waterfall foam when building streams and more elaborate waterfalls. If you need help determining how much rock and gravel you need for your waterscape don't hesitate to call our pond construction headquarters for help.

Question 7: If I want two waterfalls with my Kit, do I need a second waterfall pump?

Answer: YES & NO. That question will ultimately depend on your expectations of the waterfall. If you want a raging waterfall then, Yes, you will possibly need an additional pump. If you are looking for a tranquil waterfall then, NO. If the tranquil waterfall fits your expectations, then you can add an additional waterfall filter and a manifold assembly to your American Pond Kit and you will be in business.
