I've been absent from the board for a little while. Been busy. But here are some pics:
The pond landscape has matured and filled in nicely:

The string algae is almost all gone.
But man, that stuff was a headache. I had to empty out my skimmer daily because it filled the net and brushes. There was so much of it that if I did not empty the skimmer each day, it would stop the flow of water going in.
My fish are named, my wife picked the names, they are Japanese. My Japanese spelling is off, so bear with me.
This is "Hoover" (because he is a very, very aggressive eater, pushes other fish out of the way, and almost takes your finger off when he eats). We kept an "English" name because it just fit with him:
