I've been absent from the board for a little while. Been busy. But here are some pics:

The pond landscape has matured and filled in nicely:

The string algae is almost all gone. But man, that stuff was a headache. I had to empty out my skimmer daily because it filled the net and brushes. There was so much of it that if I did not empty the skimmer each day, it would stop the flow of water going in.

My fish are named, my wife picked the names, they are Japanese. My Japanese spelling is off, so bear with me.

This is "Hoover" (because he is a very, very aggressive eater, pushes other fish out of the way, and almost takes your finger off when he eats). We kept an "English" name because it just fit with him:

Nice individual photos of your herd. They all look so big. Is that from the photo or are they all jumbos from that warm AZ water?

Thanks!

3 of them are about 20-24", the other 2 are around 12-15".

Thanks! Hoover is insane when we feed him. He will climb onto a rock and get out of the water to get at the food. He even goes into the skimmer to get the food that got away. He's an eating machine - AKA "hoover".

Nice fish Jack! With fish that big and THE RIGHT AMOUNT of AQUATIC PLANTS next season you will not have a string algae problem. Your pond needs MORE PLANTS.

I feed them ONCE a day, in the late evening. The three larger ones are about 20-24", the other two are around 12".

If you hold a piece of food in your fingers, Hoover will literally go berserk and start to thrash in the water while he is sucking at your fingers, trying to VACUUM the food out of your fingers.
