The Pond Digger
Premium Koi & Goldfish Food

Why is it that some POND FISH FOODS are so expensive compared to others? You know the old saying; you can pay now, or you can pay later! Well, this statement rings very true when it comes to selecting pond fish food for your finned friends.

"Fish Food" diet & nutrition play and important role in not only the heath of your Koi and goldfish but also in the overall balance of your ponds ecosystem! The trick here is to offer your Koi and goldfish a Premium Fish Food.

The cost of fish food simply boils down to the quality of the ingredients. Typically you will find that inexpensive fish foods sacrifice quality ingredients and simply add cheap filler ingredients like CORN FLOUR & CORN MEAL. Ultimately your fish are what they eat and by offering your fish lower quality ingredients you are jeopardizing the health and well being of your fish..................................

IN CLOSING TAKE THESE FISH FOOD & NUTRITION TIPS AND TRICKS WITH YOU. Over feeding your pond is one of the largest CONTRIBUTORS to ponds that have out of control algae, poor water quality and unhealthy fish! You can feed your fish a few times a day if you are very conservative in your portions, have a good routine of adding beneficial bacteria to your pond and at least on occasion, perform partial water changes to your ecosystem.

Be very careful not to feed your fish more than they can consume in just a couple of minutes. Uneaten fish food that ends up in your skimmer, ultimately jeopardizes your water quality, provides fuel to undesirable algae, and ends up in your filtration system creating more maintenance for you! Feed the fish not the Pond!

When water temperatures drop into the 60's switch to The Pond Digger Brand Cold Temperature Formula Fish food and seal your summer variety fish food up and toss it in the freeze to keep it fresh for next year! REMEMBER; stop feeding your fish when water temperatures are between 50 and 55 degrees so that your fish don't go down for hibernation with a full belly!

Pro-Biotic fortified is a fancy way of saying..........................

Happy Pondering,

The Pond Digger
Eric, I'll be the first to comment on The Pond Digger all season food.  As you know, I've got a newer pond and we've only recently adopted a couple of fish- but much larger than I was expecting for our initial foray.

The word from the pond is that both my daughter and the fish dig the food!  Meredith has really taken to feeding the fish and we've got a good routine going.

As much as I'd love a Pond Digger shirt, I'm very pleased with the Pond Digger brand food so far and really appreciate having it available- so it's not heading back to you- even for a shirt!

Here's a quick pic of my daugher giving the koi- temporarily named "Skeletor" some hand fed pellets.  He has quickly adapted to his new home.  No hand feeding for the goldfish yet- but he quickly picks off the floating food pellets as well.  Great product, not to mention the company support behind it.

Thanks again!
  Ben

Well, I can't comment for the folks who haven't replied- but I'd say they are missing out.

Since I've already commented on our positive experiences with the fish food, I'd like to say that the Pond Digger beneficial bacteria has also worked out very well. In spite of the heat, we've not experienced any issues with clarity, algae, or ammonia/nitrite levels. Although after our initial fish add we did have a little nitrite spike- I kept dosing the pond as directed and the nitrite was quickly back down to minimum levels within a few days.

I truly appreciate your work to have high quality products available for the ponders out here.

Lurkers- you need to give this stuff a try!!

Thanks for your feedback Ben.

Instead of sending in for the free food, I just went online and ordered your premium fish food (both the color enhancing and the all season) after reading what you had to say. If others are like me, they were embarassed to let you know what they are feeding their fish. I just didn't realize that there was that much of a difference. Also, I read that you should gradually switch the food, which would be hard to do if I had shipped it to you. Finally, I just didn't want to bother with going to UPS to ship my old food.

My fish seem to be adjusting to their new diet. I'm adding it to their old food and gradually switching, but they still seem to like the "noodle shaped orange food" I was feeding them better (I guess it's like kids and junk food!)
I guess it won't work for me to send in my koi food for my free t-shirt since I am using your food already. I am really happy with it. We use to go to PetCo and read all the labels and try to figure out which one to get, now I just go on-line and order and it appears on my door step, couldn't get any better, unless it was delivered in person by the pond-digger Jodi
