I have purchased a new property with an existing pond on it. I have no experience maintaining a pond.
The pond has a serious algea problem. The pond is about .7 of an acre. It is 4 - 6 feet deep. It is filled by by rain runoff from the surrounding area. It also drains into a nearby river. It has Large Mouth Bass, and Crappie. It also has bull frogs, turtles and other transient wild life, like Blue Heron. It has lots of pond vegetation like pond and water lillies, iris, some grasses etc.
How do I go about determining how much water is in the pond? How do I go about improving its' health?
