Hey Everyone,
I wanted to send out a WARNING REPORT on Chloramines Reported to being used in the Temecula area. This is a link to the Press Enterprise where we learned of this warning.

You should be treating your pond with at least a double dosage of what ever dechlorinator product you are using for your pond.
Here is the problem that everyone should worry about.......
Most pond owners do not even bother to add dechlorinator to their ponds on occasion for chlorine that hits their pond via the automatic waterfill valve or after small water changes when cleaning filters and such. NOW that is not a problem 95% of the time!
Chlorine in trace amounts actually disapates very quickly in most ponds with heavy aeration via pumps and waterfalls so the homeowner can get away with this for years and years without a problem.
CHLORAMINES is different! Chloramine is actually chlorine bonded to ammonia. What this does is give the chlorine a longer life span once it hits the pond. Chlorine will disapate BUT Chloramine will build and remain!
If you perform small water changes and replace evaporated water without ever nuetralizing the Chloramines then the Chloramines (Chlorine bonded to Ammonia) will elevate and one day potentially put your fish population at risk. It may take several weeks before your fish are beyond repair! It can sneak up on you!
That is why you hear the horror stories from someone that has kept a pond for years and years and years and year, yet has never added chlorine nuetrilizer to their pond. When the water company finds some funny little BAD bacteria in the drinking water, they shock the system with Chloramines!
SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM:
Use a Chlorine & Chloramine Nuetrilizer in your pond on a regular basis! Add just a little nuetrilizer to your pond every few weeks, especially in the SUMMER months when you are experiencing heavy evaporation rates.
Use Chlorine & Chloramine Nuetrilizer REGULARLY when you are performing small water changes or cleaning of filters on your pond! Whether you have never done it in the past or your use to do it but then stopped; Make it a habit, starting today!
Remember, Chlorine and the Ammonia bonded together create Chloramine. You need to break that bond and what you are left with is Chlorine and Ammonia. Now both chlorine and ammonia are toxic to fish.
However, once broken from the bond, Chlorine with be immediately nuetrilized and you will be left with, Ammonia. When you have an established eco-system pond the Ammonia is consumed by the beneficial bacteria, filtration system, and aquatic plants!
We have packaged a PROFESSIONAL STRENGTH Chlorine and Chloramine nuetrilizer that really does the trick and fast! Easy Pour spout to make dosing the pond easy and clean! The Pond Digger Brand Chlorine & Chloramine Nuetrilizer is professional strength and super concentrated! When compared to ordinary brands of dechlor that sell for Ten to Fifteen Bucks for a 16 oz. bottle, our 16 oz. bottle may seem expensive at a fat $29.99 per bottle.
However, before you step back because of the price, remember The Pond Digger Brand is Professional Strength! Competing brands of 16 oz. bottles of dechlor treat less than two thousand gallons of water, where as The Pond Digger Brand Chlorine & Chloramine Nuetrilizer 16 oz. bottles, treat 16 thousand gallons of water and comes with an easy pour spout! We are actually working hard to save you money!
Whatever nuetrilizer you choose is really up to yooooose! Just use it on a regular basis to protect your fish from disaster. Luckily my client noticed this article in the paper and reacted upon it and started asking questions and thankfully he alerted me so I could alert the rest of the people in the area.
Happy Pondering,
The Pond Digger
